CHRU supports global effort to promote the use of vaccines

As part of World Immunisation and African Vaccination Week in the last week of April, the Clinical HIV Research Unit (CHRU) is proud to be part of the global effort to promote the use of vaccines to protect people against disease.

Our scientists and community advisory board were involved in testing the Johnson & Johnson Covid-19 vaccine. We have been involved in proving the safety and effectiveness of this and other Covid-19 vaccines.

Watch CHRU’s Aids Clinical Trial Group clinical research site leader, Dr Sharlaa Badal-Faesen, and community advisory board chairperson, Jeanette Masiapata, share their experiences of Covid-19 and explain why they have faith in the scientific process that delivers safe, effective vaccines.

CHRU encourages everyone to vaccinate to protect themselves and others.
