Financial management department
CHRU’s financial resource management is handled by the Wits Health Consortium (WHC) which is a wholly owned company of the Faculty of Health Sciences at the University of Witwatersrand in Johannesburg.
CHRU’s administrative structure handles operational costs as well as:
Budget planning and allocation,
Grants management,
Preparation and processing of payments,
Asset verification and
Conference registration and travel bookings.
Administration department
The Administration Department is the backbone of the operations at CHRU. It coordinates several functions essential to the efficient running of the unit which adhere to Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and South Africa’s Occupational Health and Safety Act. CHRU operates according to best international practices, using innovative technology across its operations.
Functions of the Administration Department include:
Managing reception and administration functions,
Environmental infection control,
Training of all staff including drivers, cleaners and gardeners in infection control,
Facility maintenance,
Logistics, participant transport and incident management,
Procurement and
Managing and maintaining archived documents in an access controlled filling room to maintain participant confidentiality.
